What To Do About "Maskne"
Ohhhh, the dreaded acne caused by the masks that we are wearing during this (seemingly never-ending) Pandemic. It's been a really tough year on our mental health and our physical health.
We have so many clients and customers reaching out to us about what to do about the breakouts they are having because of constant mask wearing, and the clogged pores and breakouts they're getting around their jawline.
So how do you get rid of and/or prevent this? For some essential workers its a little bit difficult, you're wearing your mask all day, with sweat and dirt building up throughout the day. In these situations we would recommend bringing a few masks to change throughout the day, and wash the masks you have worn before using them again (considering they are reusable masks). In between mask changes, its a good idea to do a good face cleanse. If you're in a rush and don't have time for a full face cleanse, a cleansing wipe could help when you're in a hurry. Follow up with a moisturizer that fights acne, something with salicylic acid would be a good choice.
For people people who are wearing masks only for running essential errands or going outdoors near people, do not use the same disposable mask, and any mask that is reusable you should wash frequently.
If you're in a city that has reopened for skin care professionals, we definitely recommend going in and getting a good deep cleansing facial. We have all been shut down for so long, everyone is in need of a thorough facial cleanse.
And as always, stay safe, and if you have any questions, you can contact us and we will help answer any questions you have!
